Just because summer ended does not mean the gigs have slowed down.
It was a pleasure to wrap up two more legs of the 2017 World Tour with Hiromi and Edmar Castañeda this past week. We started in Cali, Columbia then played the two nights at the newly opened Blue Note Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Obtaining our visas for Buenos Aires, Argentina only hours before our flight left was truly a frantic moment. Nevertheless, we flew to Buenos Aires and rocked a great show for the Argentinians, while having the opportunity to eat some of the most delicious steak, courtesy of Yamaha South America.
From South America we headed back to Europe for the third time this year. Paris, Zurich, Nimes (FR) were all great. Le Seine Musicale in Paris is a brand new venue with amazing acoustics. From Nimes, France we headed over to Milan to play yet another Blue Note Club, Blue Note Milano. From MIlan we headed over to Stockholm to play the jazz festival there. Our concert was in one of the best sounding concert halls we have ever played. Check it out below:
After Stockholm we had a few days off in London, Edmar returned home to NYC and Hiromi and Tyler ate ramen. Not bad. We played Shoreditch Town Hall to a full house then jetted off to Dresden, Germany. From Dresden we started our final push of four shows in five days. Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and then ending in Bucharest, Romania. With such a busy schedule we had little time to explore but still had fabulous dinners every night.
Next week the we start the final USA/Canada tour from Nov. 5th - Nov 19th. Starting in beautiful Newark, NJ! Looking forward to hitting the road with this amazing duo once again.
